"On his social media this Wednesday [May 38], independent Cuban journalist José Luis Tan Estrada announced his arrival in Mexico after a 45-day journey that included crossing the Darién jungle, five months after State Security forced him to leave the island.
'After crossing the dangerous Darién jungle, traveling through more than ten countries by land, and enduring one month and 15 days of an extremely tough journey: I am in Mexico!' the journalist from Camagüey wrote on his Facebook page.
Tan Estrada said he lost about 20 pounds and gained 'many dark circles under his eyes' during a journey he described as 'long and difficult, full of obstacles.' He expressed gratitude to those who have helped him since he was in Guyana."
